Hey AJlist,
This thread isn't ending on the note I would have expected. I've been
too busy to write lately but there are a few things that should be
taken into account before losing hope in hip hop.
1. Philly is still doin it.
The whole Soulquarians circle is certainly still pumping out good
stuff. Not terribly quickly, but it's still happening. Has everyone
forgotten how good the last four or so soulquarians projects are?
2. Jay Dee is still doin it.
Example: Bahamadia's One-fourteen remixed by Jay Dee.

3. QTip's new album is going to change shit.
Even though he's dropping the old name, his new LP should be a pretty
amazing effort. From the tracks I've heard, he's really working to
get as much of his musical background into the mix as possible. The
result is amazingly rich and potent, and it bloody well bumps. Check
"Feelin" if you get a chance.
4. Dwele
What he's doing isn't exactly strictly hip hop, but why strap it
down? I have a feeling that his LP is going to be at the very least
an amazing album, if not an outright hit. Let's see if Virgin can do
it properly.
Hip hop not going to stay the same, I'll argue that in some cases
it's growing up.
cheers,
