Andy Keep and vocalist Jokate Benson created a MASTERPIECE.
You could say :"Why have we never heard of them ???"
Well, the worth of this album is in inverse proportion to the band fame.
In my long career of obscure LPs hunting, I have found few records with no
tracks to discard.
(I have collected 2.000 albums since 1974, from Beatles to Hancock to Joni
Mitchell to nowaday trip-hip-dum'nChill-nuJazz'nSoul-fish'nChip)
"RED" by MING is one of them !
MING have roused my jaded enthusiasm ...
Their lack of renown is an artistic injustice....(like most other
exceptionally good albums!)
Andy Keep goes beyond mere musical fads and fashions ....
He's not just another trendy DJ-programmer-remixer.
He is simply a gifted songwriter, able to write timeless eternal melodies...
Jokate Benson's voice, is perfect for this strange musical atmospheres and
smart electronic-arrangiaments.
Sure, all digital sounds, but handled tastefully, to please also the
elettro-acustic maniacs.
To help you to understand the contents of this album, I could say "ala"
Bjork, "ala" Moloko, "ala" Hefner, but this record is different and, in my
opinion, on a higher level.
I hope there will be a new MING album soon and to see their name be
proclamed a little bit more.
