Greetings, list,

I am new to this list. I've been lurking for sometimes now. Not only I am new to this list but also to this genre of music. I was acquainted to AC last April.

My fav albums from since last April, are Bossa Mundo, Uman, Bebel Gilberto: Tanto Tempo, Monday Michiru: New Beginnings, UFO: United Future Organization, Zuco 103, Mono: Formica blues, Jazz Spectrum by Keb Darge & Dr.Bob Jones. (I don't even know if they could be categorized under Acid Jazz)

My knowledge is limited. Could anyone help me by giving me some names of which I should really listen to? some directions, please!!

btw, can anyone give me a broad definition of what Acid Jazz is? Does it mean re-arranged modernized Jazz? I had listened to some Traditional Jazz in the past, however, only limited to Big-band, swing, maybe some Bop...Do you all well acquainted with Jazz? Is it necessary to know Jazz in order to appreciate Acid Jazz?
