    hi again joni,
i could see why your friends might be turned off of jazzanova and,
potentially, the rest of the compost roster. they just ain't shakespear
caliber (and rushdie's not in that class either, imho ; ) can i give my
props to umberto eco? aj_lit thread anybody?

i think it really depends on which tracks you present them with because they
really have fluctuated in their quality. but your friends would be insane
not to go for the Circe and Burnin' jazzanova remixes or The Season and
Charles by Beanfield. those tracks are truly transcendent.

also check out some of amon tobin's work under the cujo alias. there's some
nice work in there. i still dig the Fat Ass Joint and Brazillionaire
tracks. i gotta a little burnt out on the
    shuffling-saturated-cymbals-cinematic thing.

    tschau,
    aaron dario

look out for the new ron carter album on blue note. i caught him at the
regatta bar on saturday night and his pianist, steve scott, is phenomenal!
on a latin vibe with too many percussion instruments for me to count
