dimitri has been around along time so i guess hes qualified in that
regard.. his disco sound seems to involve a latin style of sound (not
straight up latin!) like que tal america, etc, and i dig the BBE disco
    comp's on vinyl..

kenny dopes strange games and funky things III (BBE) i got on
CD, his mix was so bad i cant listen to it. obviously all computer
edited with dodgy loud scratches etc. very disappointing, love the
comp's music selection apart from the mix disc..

ps: i think dave lee gets the disco fanatic hat though, hes complied
and written a heap on discos underground sound throughout the
years.. check any comp with him involved (BBE, harmless, etc)

    > Hey all. I'll just try and spark a discussion here. I have been blown away by Dimitri's "Playboy Mansion", and his "Disco Forever" release on BBE. What's really got me is the quality of his mixing. I haven't listened to a ton of mixed albums, but I'm left wondering can this guy be that good
live? Or does he make it sound so good because he's in the studio and has all the time he needs to match the track and drop it with perfection? And how does he rank as a disco/house dj to those of you who have seen a lot of them? And the other side of the coin, mixing aside, how does his choice
of cuts stack up against other djs in the genre? Is he "the man" as far as rare groove disco is concerned? I'd love to hear from you disco headz
