I want to second that, she really had it going in Coachella, had the crowd grooving. Her first song finished with around 6 well spaced outros,,,,smooth,,,,, anyone has the info on who plays with her?, the drummer seemed very familiar but I couldn't put together face-name.
Real energetic live performance.
Saludos,
Chavira

I was lucky enough to catch Nikka Costa performing at the Roxy in L.A. a few
weeks ago. She was amazing! I haven't heard the whole CD yet, but her live
show was full of raw energy --along the lines of a Lenny Kravitz type of
thing. She's the first artist since Maxwell that's made me really stand up
and pay attention.

>Ok, so I just picked up the debut CD by Nikka Costa, and I've been
listening to it for a week now. I really like it. In spirit, it reminds
me of the first Mary J. Blige album, where the imperative was a seamless
blending of hip hop and soul. In execution, I am reminded of the first
Maxwell album because of diversity of vocal styles, off-kilter pop
songwriting, and funky grooves. This is much better than that really
disappointing Anastacia LP.<
I agree here. I had hope for Anastacia. Great voice, but the songs go
nowhere.
Apparently this is Nikka Costa's 4th album, she released two as a kid, and
one a few years ago in Australia. eBay has been popping up with a number
of her early singles and whatnot.
