Alistair and Tempo of the Down
This disc was one of my recent aquisitions as well. I'm digging most of the
stuff I've heard from Naked Music - in particular Carte Blanche vol.2
I have Carte Blanche Volume 1 but not Volume 2.
which
is in the same vein as Midnight Snack - perhaps better.
What does it for me on Midnight Snack is:
Track 5. Pimprekker "Let it Go", Friggin Love it!!! Great Bass line, Love
the Barry White-esque Skankin' Guitar riffs along with the Lonnie Liston
Smith atmospheric Guitar riff, Love the vibe reminds me of being in Northern
Italy slicin' and dicin' on SS439 between Piovene and Enego. Great Sax and
just a great vibe, Love the tempo.
Track 9. Petalpusher "Breakin it Down" Almighty!!! Man this one one just
makes.... Does it get better than this? Love her vocals!!!! I' love to
hear this while dancin in the snow on that bridge Ponte Rialto in Venice.
What an Awesome Vibe!!! Great Sax!!! Soothing!!! Love the echo too!!!
Track 10. Moss "Retread Lightly" the Guitar riff reminds me of Rufus and
Chaka Khan, Love the tempo and the flute. Sort of reminds me being in the
Motorcycle District in Tokyo during a cool frosting of snow in the evening.
Great song and I miss Ueno.
Track 12. The Rurals "I've Traveled the World", Love the vocal riff and the
whole does it for me. Reminds me being in Northern Italy again. I really
love it when the drums come in, Great vibe! Intoxicating!!!
Track 13. Lovetronic "Always (Original)" Love the acoustic guitar riff.
Love her voice too. I love its ambience and the flow of the song and the
vocal inflection of "I so into you". Great Slow dance song!!!
Also on the
Downtempo vibe, have you heard Slide Five's "people, places and things"?
I checked it out on ubiquity's website and I ordered it and need to go pick
it up. Damn!!! What a friggin awesome recommendation!!! Damn
!!!! Aw!!! Hits the spot.
It's a few years old
Hell!!! I don't know what's old or new but I do know what I like and I like
what I heard from the short 30 second blips I was able to listen to.
now and I don't know if it's still available but IMHO
it's a Downtempo classic.
I concur. I ordered it through http://www.millenniummusic.com here in
Charleston, South Carolina.
I still give it a listen on a regular basis.
I am intoxicated by Cinematic Orchestra's Motion CD.
Cheers,
Great recommendation, you hit the nail right on the head with Slive Five's
People, Places and Things.
Al.
Happy Trails!!!

Pace'
