    Slide Five was one of my favorite acid jazz bands back in the day. PP&T was
    Slide 5's first foray out of the slick SF jazz funk sound and into
    "electronica." But I still liked it though. It was the first CD I decided
    to play when I bought a new bookshelf stereo last year.

    Too bad S5 ain't around no more, but the Warrin brothers now live in NYC;
    Jon Warrin does productions with DJ Swingsett on their ISM label, and Dave
    Warrin does some deep/ambient house with his wife on vocals. I was lucky
    enough to run into John at this chill hang the last time I visited NYC (Nov
    '99) thanks to our very own Qool Marv (where ya been, man? Please de-lurk!).
