Just a few more words about Pharoah Sanders to say that I saw him in concert at
Joe's Pub in New York and it was really great. He didn't play that much but he
was joined with Kenny Garrett !
I also agree, go for Karma with the classic The Creator has a Masterplan.
There are also some more recent releases (live...) on the Evidence label.
BTW, speaking of The Creator has a Masterplan also check the Bobby Matos
version (Sessions album) and its excellent remix by Mr Scruff (No Categories)
on Ubiquity Recordings.
Different topic, I also saw Terry Callier live in New York and I was amazed.
I was not a great fan + he was only playing with one bass player, a
percussionist and 2 additional guitar players so I was a bit affraid of the
result. But it turned out to be one of the greatest gig I ever saw.
So if you have the opportunity to catch him live, don't hesitate a second...
Yann.
