Oops!!! Definition time!!! Loosely I did not know what else to call it.
Gnerally, and I use this concept loosely anything that could resemble Jazz
that would grate the minds of "Smooth Jazz" programers throughout the US
would be Acid Jazz. The Grassy Knoll, just ROCKS!!! Call it Free Form,
Acid Funk, or whatever the three CDs I have just hit the nail on the head
for me. For me it is refreshing to actually hear a guitar being used and
used well. This band has a punch.
even though
>they have been including each time more of a hip hop beat in their latest
>productions, but they are really awesome.
I'd lie to see them live but my luck they won't be coming to these parts. I
think they are from Texas. A Buddy of mine who still works in a Record
Store in Columbia, S.C. hooked me up with thier Promo CD -Positive- on
Antilles and I have been hooked ever since. So I have it along with -The
Grassy Knoll- and -III-. From the last time I looked on
http://www.allmusic.com -Positive- is the only one still in print. Therapy?
TGK is just what the doctor ordered. I can't really compare them to
anyone but it would be nice if anyone else out there in the Sonic Abyss of
Acid Jazzdom to recommend others out similar to The Grassy Knoll. Purple
Haze and Happy Trails!!!
Semper Motociclismo,
Pace'
Their collaborations with
