Hey Olaf,
Sounds like we were sprung from similar sources! I take a lot more than
200 CD's with me but mainly because I am a little twisted with this stuff
but I do much the same as you, very little preparation, 2 or 3 pieces to
start, a quick suss of the crowd and then, after testing the chemical
balance of my body and mind (!), a long diver into the pool and freestyle
baby, freestyle. I like to walk along the edge so I don't mind being
spontaneous in my selections and doing my radio show 3 nights a week I do
get some practice as well and, as you say, it always seems to work out
fine! Tomorrow night I am opening for Swaraj and Dum Dum Project and my
only real thoughts in terms of the music is to have a really good time and
to NOT play the Asian stuff they will be playing!
cheers
leslie/The Power of Sound
