    Greetings,

I'm up to my ears in CDs at the moment, so this edition will be brief.

Next week, we'll have an hour+ mix from one of the planet's most
delightful DJs, Mr. Scruff. He was extremely generous and sent over
an entire evening's set (approx. five hours) on four discs. My only
problem is which one to play....?? Rest assured that whatever the
outcome, the set will be tight and wildly eclectic....

New releases include "Charango" from Morcheeba - a welcome return to
their former sound, following their underwhelming third album....DJ
Spooky's "Optometry" - the Subliminal Kid dives deep into some
abstract jazz and dope beats, accompanied by Matthew Shipp, William
Parker, Joe McPhee and Guillermo E. Brown.....speaking of beats,
Idiom Creak gives DJ Shadow a run for his money with "Idiom Creak's
Jet Powered, Monkey-Navigated." In fact, I'll go as far as to say
that this is the album that Shadow should have made. I'm listening to
it as I write this and already it wipes the floor with "Private
Press".....Uschi Classen finally drops her self-titled debut album
and it's one sweet release. The lovely Ms. C, tackles all the
keyboards and programming duties, while employing close to a
half-dozen vocalists to accompany her jazzy and soulful
    compositions......

There are also several musical surprises that I can't mention here,
along with tickets to see Rachid Taha's powerful blend of rock and
    Rai at Bimbo's this Wednesday.

Thanks for listening - ciao for now!
    David
