    Whaddup all you beautiful peoples!

Time is most definitely on fast forward or some shit lately, cause I'm
feelin a bit 'Groundhog Day'-like. I could swear it was only yesterday that
the infamous BEST KEPT (somewhat) weekly missive hit the apple of your eye.
But the collective consciousness out there from all y'all just kept begging
the BEST KEPT gyals to invade your inboxes and your eardrums...and so we
must oblige with another edition of the hilarity and sheer utter dopeness
    that is:

    BEST KEPT SECRET
with Dalia and Venus...the funniest women in show business (can I get an Ed
McMahon "whoooooooa!" and a knee slap, huh?)
Bringing you the finest in hiphophousebrokebeatbreakdownabstractbiznizz
    mashup
    Wednesday nights 6-8 PM EST
CHRY 105.5 FM in Taraana (or 'Toronto' for all you non-Torontonian speakers)
    Live stream action at http://www.yorku.ca/chry
    Reeeeeeequest Line: 416-736-5656

    DOOR PRIZE

The decrepit Monty Hall just informed me that we're ready to roll aside the
cardboard door and unveil this week's feature:

The one and only Moonstarr-ski (he's leaving Hutch to scan the police
    frequencies on his own today...)

You've pretty much been hiding out under a rock, no doubt slightly
uncomfortable and more than a little chilly, if you haven't heard of
Moonstarr already. Pretty much any time you turn on the radio (and we know
you're listening to dope radio), check out nuff DJs charts & playlists,
listen to Gilles Peterson archives, or pick up a weekly magazine in this
city, you'll hear or read about his brilliantly broken sonic constructions
rooted in techno, hip hop, and warm Brasilian riddims. His label Public
Transit Recordings (www.ptrmusic.com) is known for putting out music
composed by some truly talented folks like LAL, Maxelle, and others, and is
gaining worldwide recognition as THE label to watch for the next few years.
Dude's getting busy on plenty of remix action for cats like Jazzanova,
Recloose, and Five Deez, among many others, and is working on his
much-anticipated follow-up to the 'Dupont' LP to be released on Compost
Records outta Germany next year. Check for the absolutely excellent new
track 'Yesterday's Beginning', composed alongside the infamous John Kong
(yes, another dancefloor stormer!) that features CoolHandLuke on some deep
lyrical action to be released soon on Kong's Do Right! label, as well as a
deepndirrrrrrty remix for MC Collizhun that will get you sweating.

Always one making power moves, Moonstarr is launching a new radio show
alongside DJ Dialect on CKLN 88.1 FM (www.ckln.fm) this Friday from 5-6 PM
EST called 'Bruk Beat Radio', featuring strict broken biznizz as well as the
foundations for the sound. Definitely going into the Toronto musical
history books as the first FM radio show to exclusively showcase this new
genre of scattered rhythms. And if you're wondering 'when they gonna have a
night that I can get down to this shit?', look no further than Session, a
new monthly party Moon is hosting along with Andrew Allsgood, Roland
Deschamps, and DJ Stuart. Head to B-Side this Saturday (Nov.9), just above
Fez Batik at the corner of Richmond and Peter. Only $5 or
pay-what-you-can...what a way to spend your night! Guaranteed hot boogie
    action fo sho.

    BEST KEPT INVADES GLIDE!

Yes yes y'all! Best Kept makes its debut appearance down at Glide Wednesdays
tomorrow night (that's Wednesday Nov 6...), hosted by the ever-inspirational
Denise Benson and kick-ass Andrew Allsgood. Get a good meal in ya and come
reach down to Gypsy CoOp (815 Queen St. W, just east of Trinity-Bellwoods
park) for the sounds of Dalia and myself (Venus) bringing our blend of
hiphophousebrokebeatabstractbiznizz for you to get down to. Kicks off at 10
PM and goes til 2:30 AM or so. We're hitting the decks around 11-11:30 PM,
so come out and show love!! We want all our peoples to reach! No cover...

    OTHER DEALINGS

One of our favourite peoples, Alexis from In Divine Style, will be screening
her film 'Tag: An Ethnographic View of MC Self-Titling' this Thursday (Nov
    7) at the Hooch (815 Queen St. W, above Gypsy CoOp). The film is probably
the first ever to explore why MCs adopt the names they do, and the
significance of this practice within hip hop. Sounds pretty damn dope!
Mindbender also up in there and More or Les blessing the decks with some hip
hop gems. Go and support! $3 b$ 11 PM, $5 after.

Keep the night in mind, as Dalia and myself will be guesting next Thurs (Nov
    14) for the She Style session that rocks 'In Divine Style' every month.
Featured performer that night will be none other than up-and-coming
phenomenon Graph Nobel. Hosted by Eternia, who's video for 'Sorrow Song' is
making the rounds on MuchMusic. More on that next week...

Chicks Dig It is on that mission to bring you straight dope music spun by
the best damn selectahs in the city, never mind the XX. Make it your Monday
night ritual down at IV Lounge (328 Dundas St. W, across from the AGO).
This coming Monday (Nov 11), bump to the sounds of DJ Freedom, Queensyze,
guest Monila, and Onastic. Martini cheapness in full effect! Only
    pay-what-you-can...

Always so much going on...go and support some talented people, scene?
