I don't know how many Montreal heads are still on the list, but those that
are should definitely check this out!
Hey Folks!
Montreal's weekly jazz, funk, afro, soul, latin, brazilian, hip hop mix-up
continues this Sunday at Blizzarts. Many thanks to all those who braved the
late season snow and joined us last week.
This Sunday is a particularly special Jazztek session. Toronto DJ and
superstar collector A Man Called Warwick will grace the decks with the
funkiest obscurities you'll never otherwise hear. AMC Warwick is the real
deal. None of this techno man, 80s for the Ladies, scratchmaster bullshit;
Warwick plays the deepest music ever etched into wax without pretence or
gimmicks. While part of Toronto's Movement Collective, he kept the heads
happy downstairs when the Movement parties got too big. Now, Warwick's
Turning Point nights are Toronto's last word in deep and dusty dance music.
Enjoyed Keb Darge at the Goods last Saturday? Well, imagine Keb playing
Island Funk, Brazilian, Afrofunk and everything in between in addition to
the straight soul and funk and you get an idea of what to expect from
Warwick. Simply not to be missed. And as always, La Jazztek is free.
Look forward to seeing everyone!
Dan
