some local l.a. talk show yokels (jon and ken) were remarking on the looting
going on in iraq. "what kind of people are these?" the shrill one opined.

later that same day, a somewhat prominent dj / beat producer came to my
house, begging me to copy all of my cd samples / software and the like in
exchange for copying his cd's.... ok

then, i go over to a somewhat prominent musician's house, who's bitching
about how no labels are signing anyone right now, and he shows me his
fantastic kazaa collection, and i say, "damn, you've got $200,000 dollars
worth of album purchases right there..."

say what you will about the record companies, and about the only thing that
can be said about them is they're not yet as bad as the baath party, but
cats help themselves to what they think is theirs all the world over, end of
    story.

here's *my* audiogalaxy playlist for the days

Because All Men Are Brothers, (Teo Marcero, Dave Brubeck, Russell Gloyd)
    Free At Last (Al Green)
    Love and Freedom (Bebe Winans)
Battle Hymn of the Republic (Herbie Mann)
    Free (Stevie Wonder)
    America The Beautiful ('Keb Mo)
Wake Up Everybody (Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes)
We'll Meet Again (Benny Goodman w. Peggy Lee)
The Star Spangled Banner (Whitney Houston)
    Living In America (James Brown)
Joy To The World (3 Dog Night)

(ps this view is mine only and does not reflect, and in most cases directly
contradicts, the views / attitudes of many/most of the mga... but, since
when do musicians know anything about politics?...)

    sweet *sweet* freedom of speech!!!

    wake up everybody
