So, I was all set for last week's show, but as fate would have it, I threw my back out Tuesday afternoon. As the day wore on, the pain got worse - so bad that I couldn't stand up, much less drag myself into the station. At the last minute Tomas Palermo stepped in and saved my butt, even though he was on deadline, trying to finish up the new issue of XLR8R. Needless to say, he did a great show and I owe him one (or two).
Given the fact that everything was so last minute, there's no playlist or archive of the program, so my apologies for that. I'm still in pain, but staying pretty medicated, meaning this evening's show might be a little less coherent than usual.
In addition to the new music mentioned in the last newsletter, there are new albums from Soulstance, Zimpala, Younger Brother, Burnt Friedman, Sidestepper, Swag, Marco Pront and a ton of singles, including Mr. Scruff's "Sweetsmoke" remixed by Ashley Beadle and Manitoba stacking up and circling the runway.
That's all for now...I'm gonna crawl back to the couch and finish reading The Dirt by Motley Crue.....awesome, dude!
Ciao for now,
David
