Spending the summer deep in the studies of musical theory and wrapping
up a hand full
of remix work, Greg Long has emerged with a fresh new sound under the
alias CANTON.
Known for his melodic and dubbed-out-bliss style, Greg has been
exploring new territory of modern dance.
Music that's a bit funky, groovy and sprinkled with a taste of blues &
jazz.
A unique difference between Greg and some electronic artists today is
that Greg does
not use sampled beats, rifts or melodies of any kind in his work. He
does however look for
ways to build his sound library by making "kits" in which he plays
through his keyboard.
He also plays a fretless, guitar.
Greg is in the company of musical pioneers who create songs in a more
traditional manner
yet maintains a unique modern style of his own.
Greg Long has another side that can be felt all through-out his music.
It is a passionate and serious concern for life and the direction the
world is
taking due to global warming, political fall outs and the failing price
system.
Greg is an active supporter of the Technocracy Inc. where he stays
informed
on current events and is constantly searching for solutions.
