Talking about the Scandinavian flavour it is worth
seeking out Companionship - The sound of Scandinavia
on April records. It is compiled by Dj Wunderbaum
whose own combo ; Povo is setting out to conquer
the feets of the headz !

Companionship - The sound of Scandinavia features
the present sound of Scandinavia minus
    Finland ( for some reason ) .

Talking of the latter Nu Spirit Helsinki ´s selftitled debut
still brightens up my day, and especially so after
their superb concert at Vega, Copenhagen.

Full ten piece lineup , two vocalists, three horns, percussion,
drums, rhodes, keys - super cookin .

Had the pleasure of interviewing one of the founding
fathers of the Nu Spirit Helsinki collective, Tuomas,
for Kick Jazz which was informative as well as a
peek into the creativity behind a very admirable and
    daring band.

Keep your ears open for the soon to be first release on
their own label ; Ricky Tick records.
It is two slices of organic dancefloor jazz featuring Finnish
tenor sax giant Eero Koivistoinen and the combo is
    called The five corners quintet.

I grabbed some stills from Vega :

Anyone want moving footage - hit me back.

Also go check their own website www.nuspirit.com

Finally Kick Jazz is online as part of the Take 10 project.
Live365.com is the place to grab the action :-))

    Walker,
    Kick Jazz !!!
