Wel, in Mexico City, acid jazz, in the extended sense used in this list
(NuJazz, downtempo, rare groove, et. al.) is all over the radio. 90.5 fm
plays it almost exclusively (when it is playing music, instead of talk
news which takes about a third of its airtime, half of its daytime), while
other stations, like 90.9 fm, 96.9 fm and even 98.5 fm, which is almost
all rock, have a surprisingly high concentration of it in their playlists.
not to mention that it has become tha background music de jour in every
hip or hip wannabe site in town: from galleries to bars, fashion stores
and even hotels (just check the HABITA CD). As a matter of fact, I am
really feeling an overload!
