Exactly, I was there with people who attended Sonar 2000, a set during which GP apparently pulled off an amazing performance.
The Darshan Jesrani set was, as one might guess, filled with "post-disco" but yet "pre-house" music (sorry for the genre cliches...), the kind of records which have recently been re-invented by Metro Area, Chicken Lips and others.
Jaga Jazzist were a great contrast to the (as pointed out by Olaf) overwhelming laptop electronica domination. Seemingly having as much fun as the audience, they were switching instruments amongst band members between songs, suddenly wearing masks, whilst performing a very tight and fast-paced set.
Another highlight at Sonar was Jamie Lidell, a living proof that electronic music in a live format doesn't have to be a guy staring at his laptop while hoping that the computer isn't going to crash...
