    Greetings,

Much musical goodness in store for this evening, including these highlights:

Fertile Ground - Remixed: Baltimore's finest get the re-rub by some top-notch admirers. All the 12" mixes are here, along with some previously unreleased - every one's a winner, babe (that's the truth). Kaidi, Ayro, Ian O'Brien, Seiji, Jazztronik.....need I say more?

Full Flava - Colour Of My Soul: The second album from this Birmingham-based production team turns out to be one of the great soul albums of the year. Guest vocalists include Carleen Anderson, Alison Limerick, Ce Ce Peniston and five other UK vocalists, who all turn in superb performances. Dome Records also released the latest Incognito and Cooley's Hot Box albums, so you know they've got good taste.

V/A - Inner City Sounds: Ubiquity raids the vault of Inner City Records and finds some bonafide gems from the '70s, with many artists hailing from the Bay area, with others being seasoned L.A. studio vets. Soulful and funky (with a disco biscuit tossed in for fun), more than half of the recordings here are previously unreleased. The liner notes alone are worth the price of the album.

V/A - The 45's: More funky bizness from the UK with this collection of 45s from Puma Strut. Get down with the likes of Beathoven, Gadji, Chubby Digits and Bobby Boucher, who have recorded some dope beats, samples and basslines for Puma Strut's ongoing 7" series. Hip-hop for hop-heads.

Pavel Kostiuk - Pavel & The Musicals: 4 Hero's Dego raises the bar on the term 'future jazz' with this monster of an album. While songs are named after Broadway hits such as "Oklahoma," "The King & I," "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and "Cats," the music bears no resemblance whatsoever. Dark, brooding keys, the most broken of beats and intricate arrangements. Get this.

As usual, there are a pile of singles and odd bits to share with you as well, so I hope you'll tune in. In the coming weeks, we'll be featuring mixes from Bassman, Mitchell & Dewbury and Andreas Saag, so keep an eye our for forthcoming announcements.

    Ciao for now,
    David
