Robert Walter's 20th Congress: Giving Up The Ghost

    * Were you a fan of CTI back in the 1970's?
    * Do you miss a certain type of music that some folks used to call "jazz-funk"?
    * Remember when you could actually dance to some jazz?

Well if you answered YES to any of these questions, then you may just be interested in the new
CD called "Giving Up The Ghost", by Robert Walter's 20th Congress.

(for example, the song 'Aquafresh' will remind you quite a bit of 'Some Skunk Funk' by the
    Brecker Brothers)

Robert Walter is a STANK FUNKY organ player who is best Known for his work with such
jazz/soul/funk giants as Mike Clark of Herbie Hancock's Headhunters, legendary James Brown and
P-Funk sideman and songwriter, Fred Wesley, and George Porter of the Meters!

In addition to Robert Walter you also have...
Joe Russo and George Sluppick on drums; Greyboy Allstar Chris Stillwell and Black-Eyed Pea
Mike Fratantuno on bass; Will Bernard on guitar; percussionist Chuck Prada, and long-time
partner Cochemea Gastelum on alto sax and various woodwinds

    Here is the track listing:

    1. Glassy-Winged Sharp Shooter
    2. Aquafresh
    3. Convex + Concave
    4. Circle Limit
    5. Bygones Be
    6. Dump Truck
    7. Easy Virtue
    8. Clear All Wires
    9. Bet
    10. Underbrush
    11. Sacred Secret
    12. Giving Up The Ghost

This is a CD that makes a perfect traveling companion on the road.
    That's right..
Slap this badd boy on in the car while 'enjoying' your commute or just out for a pleasent
drive and it will sho nuff have you tapping your toes as you drive down your local highways
    and byways.
The CD is put out by Magnatude Records (the very same folks who turned us on the the Clinton
    Administration earlier this year).

This is a really good CD and I reccomend it highly.
Once you put it in, you won't take it off.
If you are looking for a more modern refrence point (than CTI or the Brecker Brothers), think
about the GREAT late 90's CD called "All Kooked Out", by New Orleans based drummer Stanton
Moore and that will place you in the correct territory for "Giving Up The Ghost", by Robert
    Walter's 20th Congress.
