Subject: Re: The Future of Music Consumption
>>i think the future of music consumption involves artists directly selling to the public and
bypassing major labels - this certainly won't eliminate piracy, but it will put more money
directly into the pockets of artists, who continue to be ripped off by the music industry now
more than ever - the whining of the major labels is sickening, especially when you see lawsuit
after lawsuit by artists who have been ripped off by the millions - i have no sympathy for the
conglomerates and would gladly fork over my dollars directly to the artists whose music i want
to own -<<
I agree with you 100 percent and obviously I am a BIG supporter of independent artists.
However this type of technology, mass produced will make it much tougher (impossible??) for
any new artists to be heard at all
>>that being said, this scenario rings true, as i see it happening among middle school and
high school kids - by the time they get to college, even the least sophisticated young person
knows how to bypass copyright protection like walter payton moving through even the most
potent defense<<
I agree with you Harry, these younger consumers of music will jump on this technology like...
"white on rice"
