    ah yes i know the product, cannot recall the name right away....i remember
    some white/black blocked vinyl....

    anyway, if you wanna experiment with using vinyl to control video
    www.mspinky.com is really interesting..you can create your own patches in
    max/msp and jitter, and you can do the freakiest stuff with it...the
    standard maxipatch application that comes with ms.pinky already enables you
    to scratch with quicktime video and control parameters from vinyl like
    rotation, zoom and effect-parameters..really cool..

    I also saw a setup at MacWorld that had an
    optical scanner in place of the stylus that
    played a record with optical patterns on it. I
    was $499 for one table setup, but, you could mix
    movie clips also. I'll try and track down the
    name, they're based in San Francisco and Florida.
