Lars Bartkuhn - The new continent (2008) this [2008-12-03]

I suspect this album will be my #1 for 2008! It really impressed me from the first listen, and it's now been on heavy rotation for two days. There is so much of what I like here: jazzy in a non-traditional jazz way, nujazz and house influences (but light and discrete), lots of fusion (especially vocals and guitar). It reminds me of the best work of Pat Metheny, in his fusion style.

It's a delightful listen, easy and with a soul. It's also varied in sound and obviously done by skilled musicians. Quite Sane comes to mind.

A safe buy for nujazz/fusion fans, and scores 10/10.
