DJ Mixes, what does he know?

Thanks to Q-Burn for the abstract message on making music with two
1200s. I've heard that La Funk Mob with the Brand New Heavies track,
so someone is biting someone, but no matter. The tape I have sounds
fresh!

Mixing intramentals with acappellas is one of the best things about
seeing an innovative DJ do work in a club. The first person I ever
heard use that technique was DJ Gerry V, who used to do this really
cool thing with the intramental of Gang Starr's Who' Gonna Take the
Weight and Sade. But there were other tidbits that he created entirely
live in a club that we always used to nod our heads to: Jocelyn Brown
and Run D.M.C., Tribe and Cutty Ranks, Marvin Gaye and Guru. Anyhow
the possibilities are infinite.

Let me suggest a few of my own favorites:

UFO's "On est Ensemble Sans Se Parler - L.O.V.E." w/ "Peter Piper"
instamental

Mobb Deep "Shook Ones Part II" acappella with Portishead's "A Tribute
to Monk & Canatella" or Depth Charge's "Hubba Hubba Hubba"

Young Disciples "Freedom Suite" with the instramental of Too Short's
"Freaky Tales".

Jeru's "Come Clean" instamental with Les Negresses Vertes "Face à la
Mer"

Try a few yourself!
