If you enjoy the funk/jazz thing, I strongly recommend an album I heard on the
radio a while ago, but only found this weekend:
Move to groove (the best of 1970's jazz-funk)
Verve (polygram) 525 797-2
It's a 2 CD set containing tracks by such artists as Roy Ayers, Jimmy Smith, the
JB's, Kool and the Gang, Mandrill etc. etc. and is a total groove monster-
there's a lot of unreleased stuff for the collectors, too.
Also, try to get hold of:
The Meltdown (8 stinking slabs of jazz-funk)
Big Cheese Records, Paris, France
This is another excellent compilation of 70's grooves.
If you want a more modern feel, try to find albums by:
The James Taylor Quartet
Corduroy
Galliano and many others!
Mail me if you need further details, or want further 70's recommendations.
Good luck!
