Re: Samples used on AJ compilation??

Another sampling concern.....I understand that if one of my
tracks ends up on a compilation (and not "bought" by anyone for the
compilation) and then some label pounces on my sampling, I'd be the only
person with a problem. No one else on the comp would need to be
concerned.....right?

Now, with potential media coverage bringing "unwanted" attention. The
same companies that may not like the uncleared sample may actually dig
your style.......re-mix work sound good to anyone? How about a phone
call from Gilles P. or James L.?

Ultimately I look at it like this: You don't clear samples for your demo
tapes ......this shouldn't be any different. But to cover our asses
maybe we should take care to not make any money off of this......and that doesn't
mean the comps cannot be sold.....just that at the end of the day the
ledgers should read $0 or less.
