Hello All,
This whole thing about what's better US vs. UK hip-hop is an easy
no-brainer. Blacks in america started this hip-hop thing and then it spread
out to everyone else. But to sit up and start comparing who is better and
who sucks does nothing for the music. The UK posse is definetly a lot
better at trip-hop and all other types of music that allows you to create
with no boundaries. As an american right now I am feeling a lot more of the
music (hip-hop and otherwise!) from europe, japan and brasil. I dont think
the rest of the world needs to pick up the bad american habit of beating up
your own artists! This is a new style that is constantly evolving so let it
evolve! To the queen who was speaking about french hip-hop - It does not
suck! If it were not for MC Solaar and numerous others I would have never
passed any of my french classes in school! And to all my UK heads - Please
give big ups for me to Roots Manuva! We really miss real hip-hop here in
the states! All of the airwaves and otherwise are saturated with bulls**t
that no one listens to! Latryx, Blackalicious, Prince Paul, Kool Keith,
even Mos Def are rarely if ever played on the radio here and thanks to our
"fuck-free-speech-government" you can really forget all notions of pirate
radio. This internet thing has the possiblity to change it all but really
think about it, how many people do you know even have that much access to a
computer? Not enough. I say we use this avenue that we have here as a
beginnning if you will. To discuss what country is better than the other is
a waste because opinions are like assholes we all have 'em. Just let the
music talk it does a pretty good job.
