Identification is via track times, which for the most part are unique to
given releases.
The only place this approach hits snags is CDs with a minimum number of
tracks (ie, maxed on 74 minutes single track CDs...) and I'd guess maybe a
few couple-track EPs.
The data delivered is entered by hand by someone. I was dissappointed to
learn it's not a democratic system (at least, when I tried it...) ... ie,
it's not the case if I enter local data for some obscure indie release
that info is uploaded to their database. Guess this saves on moderation
and review, etc., but it's too bad. Perhaps someday there will be a
democratic mutual-moderation scheme like at slashdot or something...

PS Finally putting up the last track for my new EP based on field
recordings from Fiji, in case anyone wants to check it out! It should be
available in about 20 minutes... :)
