All I can say is the 500, 500 MKII, 50, and the MMT 8 are, by music
technology standards, ancient dinosaurs. (Don't know the MC80); Kind of the
equivalent of cranking up your car before starting it... actually, kind of
like riding a horse-driven buggy, but not as reliable.
Even though you don't WANT to use a computer, you should. Or, at least get a
newer keyboard with a sequencer onboard. Even those Korg / Kurzweil onboard
models are better than those old timers, which weren't even that great when
they came out. (MC500 came out in '87 or '88, I believe. Wow, that was when
Bel Biv Devoe were rocking the charts.)
Anyway, I wouldn't pay much more than $75-$100 for one of those, and someone
should GIVE you an MMT8, which if I recall retailed for about $250 back in
the day.
