i've always had problems with this record and the miles record that bill
did. while i think that it would probably work for the purpose of this
thread (i.e., the originator's wish), i always felt like bill got paid to
take out bob's vox, and put a lot of reverb on everything--it may be
ambient, but that's not dub.
the king tubby recommendation, on the other hand, is a great album. the
select cuts series ("...from blood & fire") vols. 1 & 2 are both very nice,
too. the dub version of "protection" by massive attack (aka "no
protection") was one of my first introductions to mad professor, one of my
favorite dub producers.
