    a cd is made from plastic, a 12" made from vinyl....what's the difference
    when you're talking about demateralisation? i can understand when you use
    vinyl and CD's compared to mp3's....because then you're comparing physical
    media to a digital encoding-format ie a data stream which is independent
    from the storage medium...

    btw, this entire discussion was also done decades ago when recordings came
    into fashion mainly using jukeboxes....then it was jukeboxes vs. real
    orchestra's/performers..
