I bought quite a few CDs last week (rima's this world, qaedelus' the
quiet party, roy hargrove's rh factor, nighty night's deep soul in
dub, aphex twin's 26 mixes for cash, massive attack's special cases
cd single, playlist compilation on compost) BUT I CAN'T EVEN GET TO
THEM because I can't stop playing the "other-worldly fusions comp" on
hardware compiled by kano & ennio styles. I know I'm late; I always
am. It's addicting. A great selection of tunes. The best compilation
I've heard since the first Movement and Music compiled by Nik Weston.

I tried to kill the compulsive playing of other-worldly fusions with
Rima, but it didn't do it for me, and back I went to owf. I love
(understatement) Domu's solo stuff, and I loved the Rima song on the
Co-operation compilation, World's apart featuring D'Vax, but the Rima
full-length is not immediate. Perhaps, it was my high expectations
like I had for the Maxtrix Reloaded which disappointed as well. I'm
quite sure it'll grow on me in time.

Before I checked out the owf compilation, I did listen to Aphex
Twin's 26 mixes for cash a lot, in particular the first disc. After
hearing his mix of "Journey" by the Gentle People on Velanche
Stewart's show, I had to get the tune; and I couldn't believe it was
Aphex Twin. This is my first Aphex Twin purchase. I never disliked
his solo records, but I wasn't in love with them either (I'm not
really into the glitchy, click, bordering on noise (to me) stuff even
though Akufen sort of flipped the concept on its head and scored),
but after hearing this compilation of his mixes I get the Aphex Twin
    phenomenon.
