::::: SUPPORT STYLIN AND RRR THIS FRIDAY - CALL 9419 2066 - DETAILS BELOW

    Hello all

Very nice to finally meet Nic Tan from Perth last week. Nic's been running
the excellent Quantum Lounge website for some time now, and has just got
version 3 up which is looking mighty fine. There's a John Kong mix on there
now, and look for lots more to come very soon in the way of DJ mixes and
radio shows. Maybe even an archive of Stylin ...
    http://www.quantumlounge.net

Speaking of Stylin, we have show #150 coming up this Friday! And it just so
happens that it will also be that most important time in the RRR calendar -
Radiothon. It's almost becoming traditional for me to do a couple of
"rewind" programs during Radiothon, so I'll be pulling out some of my and
listeners' recent and not-so-recent favourites for a re-spin. Should be lots
of fun, so tell everyone to tune in.

Radiothon is a reminder of RRR's uniqueness in the world of radio. More than
half of RRR's funding comes from listeners. Despite misconceptions, RRR is
not government funded. It's a beautiful thing to have this sort of support
from listeners and this has kept RRR going since 1976. Now, RRR is the
largest subscriber-based radio station in Australia, and in many parts of
the world has no equivalent. The lack of a RRR means that many of the
international guests I have on Stylin who would do and would love to do
incredible radio shows, simply do not have the opportunity in places where
stations are dominated by commercial and government concerns.

This year the theme for Radiothon is "Home is Where the Heart is", a
reference to RRR's upcoming relocation this year which should be an exciting
change. If our result for Radiothon is good enough, perhaps there'll be an
opportunity to do even more interesting things in the new building with more
DJ-friendly studios and a live performance space to put on exclusive gigs
for subscribers (remember Jurassic 5 on the rooftop?).

As well as subscription giving you access throughout the year to great
discounts (quality record stores, cinemas, etc) and giveaways, we have some
great prizes for Radiothon subscribers including world travel, car and home
entertainment gear, an iBook with lots of extras, recording time, record
pressing, a Pioneer Digital Media Player, and lots more including prizes
especially for business, artist, DJ, band and pet subscribers. There are
also daily prizes including stacks of CD packs from the sort of labels and
distributors Stylin features regularly. Subscribing for this Friday's show
will probably give you a better chance at these, as it will be the first day
    of Radiothon.

You can subscribe just by calling 9419 2066 during the show. If it's easier
you can just email me back saying you want to subscribe, and we'll take it
from there. Or you can follow the link below to receive a subscription form
in the mail. Once again your support is hugely appreciated.

    until then
