She once was a big name in the aj world - remember the fantastic "Hear Between The Silence" with UFO? Then followed a couple of really lame, imo, albums (not all of them though). They lacked that freshness that started her career. The song writing (mainly the lyrics I think) was not quite there. Maybe she didn't do the albums with the right people?
I recently read a review at Dusty Groove, saying "if you were ready to get tired of Monday's sound and style, this isn't the album to do it". I trust Dusty Groove, and do a lot of my shopping there. Today I got the album Routes and it's just like DG says: a warm glowing quality! The vocals are better (more in her range, comfortable range that is), there is a good live feeling, some quite catchy songs. I also like that the sound is a bit harder, touching on funk (although lightly) and groove. I'm impressed.
