May compilation 2011 this [2011-05-28]

Was Claudia Brücken the Gaga of her time (but less known of course)? She definitely seemed from another planet and had a big personality. Her cover on the comp is a bit... strange. One of my favourite songs of all time, in the original version though.
Some recent album buys have been nice but do not always make it (enough) to the compilations. Like, for example, Prommer & Barck, Benny Tones, Gorillaz, Monoday Michiru, Smoove & Turell. Jazztronik's Bon Voyage is recommended - calm, jazzy, mostly piano and almost no beats. Do I hear an influence from the new London dub scene, like James Blake? There a jazzy piano lead, with bits of broken beats and noice in the background suggesting a quite different message. Ryota Nozaki always delivers.

Gaga - a difficult follow-up. I'm not so sure. She's way better than the song writing and I don't understand how that's even possible. This is a copy of an old french hit from 1987, right?
Spears - I like the high pitch voice. Is that her Swedish voice double or can she still hit that?
Michiru - I think I have all her albums but am still unsure if she can sing or not... it sounds like it is the wrong key or too high for her. Am I the only one to think this?

Cover shot: Dark chocolat at RC. 8/10 points.
