I took such a class in college, I went to USC :) It was realy a synthesis class
but the history of electronic music played a major part in it, they taught us
about Karlheinz Stockhausen, musique concrete, etc. And in our lab sessions we
were to spend time programming a modular Moog snythesizer.
I don't think there could be a better way to improve my GPA.
